Before joining TU, Dr. Kochan studied and worked as a teaching fellow at the University of North Texas where he earned his doctorate.

Before the Ph.D. program, he worked in financial services and real estate industries.

His research interests are in the area of empirical corporate finance and investments.

He is a member of the American Finance Association (AFA) and Financial Management Association (FMA).
